A study conducted by researchers at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China, has found that the protein STUB1 plays a role in suppressing the development of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). The researchers discovered that STUB1 interacts with a protein called YTHDF1 and promotes its degradation. When STUB1 is depleted, YTHDF1 levels increase, leading to increased migration, invasion, and tumorigenic potential of ccRCC cells.
