A study conducted by researchers at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China, has found that the protein STUB1 plays a role in suppressing the development of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). The researchers discovered that STUB1 interacts with a protein called YTHDF1 and promotes its degradation. When STUB1 is depleted, YTHDF1 levels increase, leading to increased migration, invasion, and tumorigenic potential of ccRCC cells. The study also found that low expression of STUB1 is associated with advanced tumor stage and poor overall survival in ccRCC patients. [Extracted from the article] |
