A study conducted at Ahmadu Bello University explores racial disparities in bladder urothelial cancer, focusing on survival rates and genetic variations. The researchers found that the genomic features of bladder urothelial cancer, as represented in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), primarily apply to white populations and do not adequately represent blacks and Asians. Significant variations were observed in age groups and genetic features among different racial groups. The study recommends better coverage of diverse populations in order to provide adequate data for clinicians and researchers. [Extracted from the article] |
