Abstrakt: | Researchers from the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in Heilongjiang, China have identified a 5-gene signature that can predict the prognosis for colon adenocarcinoma. The study used gene expression data from the Gene Expression Omnibus and The Cancer Genome Atlas to construct a gene coexpression network and identify critical genes related to cuproptosis, a copper-dependent form of cell death. The identified gene signature was validated and found to be a more reliable prognostic factor than clinical factors such as age and stage of disease. These findings provide a foundation for further research into cuproptosis-related biomarkers for predicting colon adenocarcinoma prognosis. [Extracted from the article] |
