A clinical trial, NCT06430463, has been launched to evaluate the effect of interscalene block anesthesia on hearing levels in patients undergoing orthopedic shoulder surgeries. Interscalene brachial plexus block (ISBPB) is commonly used for analgesia in the postoperative period for shoulder, clavicle, and upper arm surgeries. The trial aims to determine if this anesthesia technique has any impact on hearing. The study will involve examining patients before and after surgery using various tests, including pure tone audiometry. The trial is set to begin in June 2024 and is being conducted at Karaman Training and Research Hospital in Turkey. [Extracted from the article] |
