A recent study conducted by researchers at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece aimed to evaluate the effect of adherence to the DASH diet on blood pressure. The researchers reviewed 37 qualitative and 29 quantitative articles and found that greater adherence to the DASH diet had a beneficial effect on blood pressure compared to low adherence. The study suggests that increased compliance with DASH diet recommendations may also have positive effects on overall health and cardiometabolic factors. However, the researchers recommend further studies to standardize adherence tools and utilize rigorous study designs to better understand the potential benefits of the DASH diet on blood pressure management.
