Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at the Federal University of Goias in Brazil explored the use of ultrasound as a screening tool for osteoporosis in women. The study analyzed the bone quality of 125 women in different age groups using phalanx ultrasound and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). The results showed that phalanx ultrasound was highly effective in evaluating bone quality and could be used as a screening tool for early diagnosis of osteoporosis in women. The study highlights the importance of monitoring bone mineralization from an early age, especially for those with a family history of osteoporosis or who are at risk of developing the disease.
