A new report from researchers at the University of Paris explores the prognostic value of tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion over systolic pulmonary artery pressure (TAPSE/sPAP) in patients hospitalized for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The study found that a low TAPSE/sPAP ratio (<0.55) was independently associated with in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) and provided additional prognostic value beyond traditional indicators. The research, which included 481 patients from 39 centers, suggests that TAPSE/sPAP could be a useful tool for predicting outcomes in ACS patients. The study was supported by Fondation Coeur et Recherche in Paris, France. [Extracted from the article] |
