A study conducted by researchers from Jilin University in China explored the association between serum chloride levels and in-hospital mortality in patients with congestive heart failure. The study, which included 15,983 participants, found a U-shaped relationship between blood chloride levels and in-hospital mortality, with the lowest risk observed at a threshold of 105.017 mmol/L. The researchers used various statistical approaches to analyze the data and conducted subgroup analysis to confirm the findings. The study suggests that serum chloride levels have clinical significance in the prognosis of heart failure. [Extracted from the article] |
