A recent study conducted by researchers at the School of Health Sciences in Lausanne, Switzerland, explored the postpartum experiences of immigrant mothers in Switzerland and the factors that contribute to their distress. The study involved interviews with 20 immigrant mothers and 26 health and social care professionals, as well as ethnographic observations. The findings revealed that immigrant mothers often experienced feelings of loneliness and missed their relatives living abroad. They also faced challenges related to employment, housing, and social integration. The study highlighted the need for equal access to quality healthcare and better support for immigrant mothers in rebuilding their social networks. [Extracted from the article] |
