Abstrakt: A recent study from the University of the Aegean explores the potential effects of the ketogenic diet (KD) in the prevention and co-treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. The study reviews existing research and clinical data on the topic, finding that animal studies consistently show promising results in ameliorating symptoms of these psychiatric disorders. However, the translation of these findings to clinical settings is complex, with many clinical surveys lacking control and long-term assessment. The study recommends larger, long-term, controlled clinical trials to determine the potential benefits of the KD in preventing and treating these disorders. [Extracted from the article]
