Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Wisconsin examined the association between symptoms of anxiety and depression, hip pathology, and patient-reported outcomes after hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). The study found that mental health and hip pathology both play a role in symptom severity and postoperative outcomes for patients with FAI. Higher levels of anxiety and depression were associated with lower scores for pain, hip function, and quality of life. The study suggests that addressing symptoms of anxiety and depression directly may improve outcomes after hip arthroscopy. [Extracted from the article]
