Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science examined the use of methadone in managing postoperative pain in cardiac surgery patients. The study found that patients who received intraoperative methadone had better pain control and required lower doses of opioids compared to those who did not receive methadone. The incidence of postoperative complications did not differ between the groups. This research suggests that methadone may be an effective option for pain management in cardiac surgery patients.
