Abstrakt: | A new study on prosopagnosia, a condition characterized by difficulty recognizing faces, has been published by a researcher from the University of Montreal. The study focuses on a brain-lesioned patient with acquired prosopagnosia and investigates the neural processes involved in face and object processing. The research found that the patient's brain representations exhibited an excessive generalization of early visual patterns and bore a closer resemblance to early layers of a visual deep neural network compared to neurotypicals. The study concludes that the patient's deficits in high-level brain representations were confirmed by their reduced similarity with a deep neural network of semantics. [Extracted from the article] |
