A recent report from the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia discusses the findings of a study on glioblastomas, the most common malignancy of the central nervous system in adults. The study highlights the challenges of current therapeutic approaches due to the phenotypic heterogeneity of tumor cells and the complex interactions with non-tumor cell populations within the tumor microenvironment. The researchers emphasize the importance of considering all key populations of non-tumor cells within the tumor microenvironment in order to make breakthroughs in developing treatments for glioblastomas.
