Abstrakt: Poland's central bank is expected to keep interest rates steady for the eighth consecutive month due to concerns about rising wages. First-quarter data showed that consumption and pay increases were driving economic growth. The government has increased salaries for public sector workers and teachers, leading to double-digit wage growth in the corporate sector. Despite inflation being on target at 2.5%, policymakers believe that interest rates will remain unchanged for the rest of the year. Another concern for the central bank is the gradual removal of measures to keep energy prices low. [Extracted from the article]
