Abstrakt: Paleogeographic reconstruction is essential to investigate the dynamics of environment that occur in a basin through time. This study aims to reconstruct the paleogeography of the Late Cretaceous Barrow Group in the North Carnarvon Basin, Exmouth Plateau, offshore NW Australia. We use high quality resolution of 26,57 m in target depth 3D seismic reflection data and four well data. The former was used to delineate the distribution of sedimentary deposits through seismic facies analysis and attributes, and the latter was used to interpret lithofacies and petrophysical properties. We analysed the stratigraphy of the area in detail, and thus, allow us to reconstruct deltaic environment in the Lower Barrow Group that evolved to marine environment in the Upper Barrow Group. The Barrow Group was then overlayed by clay-dominated Muderong Shale. The resulting paleogeographic maps were then used to delineate potential reservoir and seal distribution in the target stratigraphic interval. Our analysis suggest that Barrow Group has a good for CO2 injection as it has good potential reservoir potential which is capped by regional seal (Muderong Shale). Further study is needed to investigate dynamic properties of the reservoir (e.g. pressure and aquifer drive). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
