Methods and tools of prediction used in recent scientific research are reviewed. General trends are noted, and those approaches that are most widely used and respected are identified. With increasing competition and economic instability, enterprises are focused on improving methods of prediction. Today, the accuracy of forecasts depends on knowledge of the theoretical principles employed, the ability to collect the necessary information, and a realistic understanding of prediction by artificial intelligence.
