Abstrakt: Many efforts have been made in recent years to develop organic and semi-organic single crystals for a range of applications involving urea and urea compounds. In this study, Urea-doped Potassium hydrogen phthalate (KU) and Tulsi (Ocimum Tenuiflorum)-mediated Urea-doped Potassium hydrogen phthalate (KUT) single crystals are generated using a slow evaporation approach. X-ray diffraction tests revealed that the produced crystals have an orthorhombic system. The FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) spectra show a modest shift in absorption frequencies caused by the addition of leaf extract to the KU crystals. In UV research, the produced crystals have minimal absorption in the visible area, and the optical band gap energy value for KU and KUT crystals has been found to be 4.7 and 4.85 eV, respectively. Thermogravimetry Differential Thermal Analysis tests revealed that the produced crystals had a high thermal stability. The SEM and Energy-dispersive X-ray analysis studies revealed that the addition of plant extract during crystal formation lowered the peak intensity of the KUT crystal. Nonlinear optical studies demonstrate that the produced crystals' SHG efficiency is 1.2 times higher than normal KDP. The dielectric characteristics of produced crystals are investigated at various frequencies. KUT has a higher dielectric constant value than the KU crystal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
