Abstrakt: New research from the University of Pittsburgh has found that the protein GPX3 plays a role in the progression of ovarian cancer. The study showed that GPX3 is necessary for tumor growth in vivo and regulates the expression of GDF15, a growth factor associated with oncogenic and immune modulatory activities. The researchers also found that GPX3 expression is correlated with immune cell signatures and PD-L1 expression, suggesting that it may be a marker for ovarian tumors susceptible to immune checkpoint inhibitors. This research provides new insights into the mechanisms of ovarian cancer and potential therapeutic targets. [Extracted from the article]
