Abstrakt: A recent report from the University of Adelaide discusses the use of cold plasma (CP) in wound healing and cancer treatment. CP is an ionized gas that emits electric fields and UV radiation. It can affect biological processes by producing reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) that modify cellular lipids, proteins, DNA, and intracellular signaling pathways. CP can activate cell proliferation, motility, migration, and antioxidant production in normal cells, while also causing inactivation, apoptosis, and autophagy of malignant cells. The review highlights the potential clinical applications of CP in wound healing and cancer treatment. [Extracted from the article]
