A study conducted in Latin American countries examined the trends in primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI) for the treatment of acute coronary ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The study involved a registry of patients from nine centers in five countries and evaluated procedural and in-hospital outcomes. The results showed that pPCI performed by well-trained operators in suitable centers had comparable outcomes to those reported in well-developed countries. The study provides valuable insights into the management of STEMI in Latin America. [Extracted from the article] |
