Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by the University of Health Sciences in Ankara, Turkey compared the effectiveness of two different nerve block techniques, pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block and lumbar erector spinae plane (L-ESP) block, in providing postoperative pain relief for patients undergoing hip surgery. The study found that both block techniques resulted in lower pain intensity scores, reduced morphine consumption, longer time to first morphine request, and higher postoperative satisfaction compared to the control group. The researchers concluded that the application of PENG or L-ESP blocks with a high volume of local anesthetic can improve the quality of postoperative pain management for hip surgery patients.
