A recent study conducted by the Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare in Okayama, Japan compared the scatter doses for lenses between helical scans with a 40-mm detector width and axial scans with a 160-mm detector width during pediatric chest CT examinations. The study used two different CT machines and three pediatric anthropomorphic phantoms. The results showed that scattered doses may vary depending on the CT scanner and body size, but they are generally lower in the case of axial scans. This research provides valuable insights for medical professionals and researchers in the field of pediatric radiology. [Extracted from the article] |
