Abstrakt: A research report from Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China discusses the development of a novel survival model for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients. The model combines conventional TNM staging with serological indicators to improve treatment guidance and prognostic prediction. The study retrospectively enrolled 10,914 eligible patients and stratified them into four risk groups based on serological markers. The new model demonstrated higher prognostic prediction efficacy compared to the current TNM staging system and could help identify patients suitable for induction chemotherapy. The researchers recommend incorporating these serological indicators into the TNM staging system for NPC. [Extracted from the article]
