Abstrakt: A new report from Baylor University College of Medicine discusses the issue of aggression and violence in emergency departments (EDs) and the need for tools to identify patients at risk of agitation. The study conducted a systematic literature review and identified ten relevant scores, with eight intended for use in EDs. The Aggressive Behavior Risk Assessment Tool (ABRAT) was found to be sensitive and specific, while the Brøset Violence Checklist (BVC) was highly specific. The research concludes that future studies should investigate the effectiveness of these tools in predicting and preventing violence in EDs. [Extracted from the article]
