Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by Harvard Medical School highlights the need for youth-specific harm reduction programs to address the increase in substance use among adolescents and young adults. The study found that this population is less likely to engage with existing addiction treatment infrastructure, making a mobile harm reduction program crucial in reducing substance-related morbidity and mortality. The Community Care in Reach AYA pilot program, launched in 2019, aims to bridge this gap and increase engagement with harm reduction strategies. The evaluation of the program suggests that youth-oriented initiatives are effective in increasing participation and reducing harm. [Extracted from the article]
