Researchers at the University of Nis have developed a method for creating personalized 3D bone models of the human mandible using artificial neural networks. These models have applications in oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, dentistry, and forensic sciences. The proposed parametric model allows for precise manipulation using morphometric parameters acquired from medical images, resulting in a personalized model with a high level of accuracy. This research highlights the benefits of the parametric approach in the preoperative planning of mandibular deformity surgeries. [Extracted from the article] |
