A recent study conducted by researchers at Colorado State University explores the use of cationic contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) for imaging equine articular cartilage injury and repair. The study found that CECT imaging at clinical resolution can distinguish between fibrous repair tissue, degenerative tissue, and healthy hyaline cartilage. The researchers also discovered that CECT attenuation correlates with molecular tissue properties of articular cartilage. This research provides valuable insights into the potential use of CECT for assessing cartilage health and repair. [Extracted from the article] |
