A study conducted by researchers at Hasanuddin University aimed to identify the risk factors associated with a decrease in hemoglobin levels in patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). The study analyzed data from 273 patients who underwent PCNL between January 2018 and December 2022. The findings revealed that older age, comorbid diabetes mellitus, larger amounts of intraoperative bleeding, and longer operating time were all factors associated with a decrease in postoperative hemoglobin levels. This research provides valuable insights into the factors that contribute to hemoglobin decrease after PCNL surgery. [Extracted from the article] |
