Discusses a study which explored the importance of insulin for glucose disposal during an intravenous glucose tolerance test in rats, experiments were performed in four cohorts of conscious unrestrained rats fasted overnight. Basal characteristics of cohorts of rats; Changes in plasma glucose, insulin and radioactivity levels after bolus injection of glucose; Effects of exogenous insulin on plasma glucose levels and glucose disappearance. |
