This article is a subanalysis of the German CArdioSurgEry Atrial Fibrillation Registry (CASE-AF Registry) and focuses on the improvement in modified European Heart Rhythm Association (mEHRA) classification scores in patients who underwent surgical ablation (SA) for atrial fibrillation (AF). The study included 505 patients with documented preoperative and one-year follow-up mEHRA classifications. The results showed that surgical ablation was associated with significant clinical improvement in mEHRA scores, indicating an enhancement in the quality of life and functional status of AF patients. This study suggests that surgical ablation has a promising role in improving the symptoms and overall well-being of individuals with AF. [Extracted from the article] |
