Abstrakt: This article discusses the efficacy of mitral valve surgery after percutaneous edge-to-edge mitral valve repair using the MitraClip. The study conducted a retrospective analysis of patients who underwent mitral valve repair or replacement after failed MitraClip repair. The primary endpoints were all-cause mortality and postoperative morbidity, while secondary endpoints included freedom from severe mitral regurgitation and improved clinical and echocardiographic parameters. The results showed a high survival rate at 30 days and one year postintervention, along with improvements in functional class and stable mitral valve function. The study suggests the need for further research to better understand the long-term benefits and limitations of mitral valve surgery following MitraClip repair. [Extracted from the article]
