Abstrakt: This article examines the use of trauma studies to analyze and interpret the lament psalms, specifically Psalms 74, 79, 137, and 87. The authors argue that these psalms, which express anger and revenge, can be seen as part of Israel's healing process in response to collective trauma. They emphasize the importance of acknowledging and expressing emotions in the recovery process, as well as understanding the historical and cultural context of the psalms. The text also explores the role of worship in accessing and reframing traumatic memories, and highlights the significance of memory and confession in seeking healing. Additionally, it discusses the unique perspective of Psalm 87, which envisions a future where Zion unites all peoples and rejects demonization of the enemy. [Extracted from the article]
