Abstrakt: Advocates in the United States are working to improve care for individuals with limb loss, limb difference, and mobility impairment. They are urging state legislators to adopt policies that would enhance access to care and expand insurance coverage for orthotic and prosthetic devices. Initiatives such as the So Every BODY Can Move campaign are pushing for coverage of activity-specific devices, while advocates in New York, California, and New Hampshire are leading efforts to improve reimbursement within state Medicaid programs and implement insurance fairness legislation. Similar advocacy efforts are also taking place in North Carolina, Minnesota, Texas, and Arkansas. These state-level initiatives demonstrate the determination and collaboration needed to improve access to orthotics and prosthetics care. [Extracted from the article]
