A retrospective cohort study using retail pharmacies drug dispensing data was conducted to investigate the risk of candidiasis associated with interleukin-17 inhibitors (IL17i). The study found that IL17i may increase the risk of fungal infections, particularly Candida infections. However, further research is needed to confirm these findings. The study also mentioned that a future study will include a new IL17i called bimekizumab, which may have higher rates of candidiasis. [Extracted from the article] |
