The article discusses the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relationship to the field of fire technology. The SDGs were established in 2015 as a set of 17 interconnected objectives aimed at promoting peace, prosperity, and sustainability. The article analyzes the scholarly outputs published in the journal Fire Technology to determine their contribution to the SDGs. The results show that Fire Technology has made significant contributions to several SDGs, particularly in the areas of affordable and clean energy, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, and industry, innovation, and infrastructure. The article concludes that fire science research, as published in Fire Technology, aligns with the goals of the SDGs and has attracted citations and impact in these areas.
