Effect of Isothermal High-Temperature Annealing on the Optical Properties of Gd3AlxGa5 –xO12 (x = 1–3) and Gd3Al2Ga3O12:Ce3+ Crystals

Abstrakt: Gadolinium‒aluminum‒gallium garnet crystals are grown with charge compositions Gd3AlxGa5– xO12 (x = 1–3) and Gd3Al2Ga3O12:Ce3+. The effect high-temperature annealing in air has on the optical properties of these crystals is established. It is shown that annealing does not affect the state of cerium oxidation. X-ray fluorescence reveals a deficiency of gallium in all the investigated crystals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
