This research is motivated by the need to optimize instructional leadership based on local wisdom in implementing Merdeka curriculum. This is important to elevate and maintain local wisdom values in the region. The aim of this research is to describe the principals' instructional leadership in creating relationships between school personnel, changing and improving systems and the physical environment of the school by empowering local wisdom in the Minangkabau area, namely "Rangkiang Barisi". This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The population of this study was 787 junior high school principals with civil servant status. Sampling was carried out using stratified proportional random sampling technique. The sample size obtained was 258 people. The instrument used to collect data in this research was a Likert scale model. Data is processed using mean and percentage formulas. The results of the research show that the instructional leadership of principals based on local wisdom in Merdeka curriculum is very much needed, with an average score of 4.56 at a percentage of 91.11%. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and maintain various strengthening of school principals' instructional leadership based on local wisdom. This has never been implemented before so many students do not understand the various cultures that should be maintained in Minangkabau. The implementation of "Rangkiang Barisi" based instructional leadership received an extraordinary response from the principal to be implemented in the school environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
