This article discusses the under-reporting of tuberculous chancre, a rare form of cutaneous tuberculosis. Tuberculous chancre mainly affects children and is characterized by ulcers on the face and extremities. The article presents a case study of a 4-year-old girl with an ulcer on her face, along with a history of preauricular swelling. Laboratory findings confirmed the diagnosis of tuberculous chancre, and the patient was referred for antitubercular therapy. The article highlights the importance of considering cutaneous TB as a diagnosis for nonhealing ulcers, particularly in regions with a high prevalence of the disease. [Extracted from the article] |
