Abstrakt: The article "Supply Disruptions and Fiscal Stimulus: Transmission through Global Value Chains" investigates the impact of government interventions during the COVID-19 pandemic on both demand and supply shocks. The study analyzes the relationship between fiscal spending, mobility measures, and supply constraints to understand their effects on bottlenecks and inflation globally. The research finds that higher fiscal support hinders the reduction of bottlenecks as mobility recovers, indicating that supply disruptions are significant during periods of strong demand. The study also highlights the connection between domestic and foreign production processes, with countries providing more fiscal support experiencing a smaller reduction in bottlenecks. Additionally, the research shows that bottlenecks have a positive effect on core goods inflation but not on core services inflation. The findings underscore the importance of considering fiscal shocks, capacity constraints, and input-output linkages in global value chains. [Extracted from the article]
