Abstrakt: Teaching-track economists in the United Kingdom have a distinct role compared to their North American counterparts, focusing more on scholarship and administration rather than teaching. They make up a significant portion of academics in UK economics departments, with 31% in these roles. While they feel connected to the academic economics profession and have a strong sense of community within their departments, they also express concerns about workload, promotion criteria, and lack of time for scholarship. The article provides valuable insights into the experiences and challenges faced by teaching-focused economists in the UK. [Extracted from the article]
