A recent study conducted by the Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences and Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital investigated the influence of electrode types on visually induced gamma oscillations in the mouse primary visual cortex. The researchers found that the surface area and impedance of the electrode played a significant role in accurately recording gamma oscillations and responsive tuning to sensory stimuli. Specifically, gamma oscillations acquired by sharp-tip electrodes were stronger than those obtained from thick-tip electrodes. These findings suggest that microelectrode parameters are important for accurately studying neural activity in the brain. [Extracted from the article] |
