A recent study conducted at Nordland Hospital in Bodo, Norway explored the associations between cytokines and psychiatric symptom clusters. The study found a positive association between the chemokine interferon-gamma inducible protein 10 (CXCL 10; IP-10) and the anger hostility cluster of symptoms. This association was particularly significant in patients using psychotropic medication. The findings suggest that there may be a link between inflammation and psychiatric symptoms, providing potential insights for understanding the pathobiology and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
