Researchers from Guizhou University in China have conducted a study on the structural characterization and mode of action of Dendrobium nobile Lindl. polysaccharide (DNP1) in relation to its anti-inflammatory effects. The study found that DNP1 is a linear glucomannan composed of specific residues and that it requires the participation of MD2 and TLR4 receptors to exert its anti-inflammatory effect. The research suggests that DNP1 may play an immunomodulatory role by binding to the TLR4-MD2 complex and inhibiting the TLR4-MD2-mediated signaling pathway. This information can be found in the journal article "Structure of Polysaccharide from Dendrobium nobile Lindl. and Its Mode of Action on TLR4 to Exert Immunomodulatory Effects" published in Foods.
