This article, published in the Romanian Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, explores the prevalence and management of separated instruments in root canals during endodontic treatment. It emphasizes the need for proper training for clinicians to effectively handle these situations. The article discusses various options for managing separated instruments, including removal, bypassing, and sealing the fragment within the root canal. It also highlights the use of advanced techniques and equipment, such as dental operating microscopes and cone-beam computed tomography, in successfully treating these cases. The text presents several clinical cases to illustrate different management approaches. Overall, the study concludes that endodontic treatment can be beneficial in complex oral rehabilitation cases.
