The RANZCP's Psychiatry Interest Forum (PIF) holds an annual essay competition for medical students and junior doctors to explore psychiatry-related topics. The winners of the 2023 competition were recently announced, with Dr Yagiz Aksoy winning the Australian competition and Dr Ria George winning the New Zealand competition. Dr Aksoy's essay focused on the role of advocacy in psychiatry, while Dr George's essay discussed mental wellbeing in the context of global climate change.
