Abstrakt: This article explores the concept of "social love" and its potential value in public health systems. The term "love" is often avoided in scientific professions due to its association with romantic relationships. However, the authors argue that love, when understood as a collective affective quality involving care, respect, commitment, knowledge, responsibility, and trust, can enhance public health decision-making and service delivery. The article suggests that a public health system dominated by a biomedical model neglects social love, which can have detrimental effects on both providers and recipients of public health services. The authors propose incorporating social love into public health policy and practice to improve population health and well-being. [Extracted from the article]
