6LoWPAN is a method to deploy IPv6 into WSN standard which will add the capability for Internet paradigm communication, control and observation of devices from everywhere. Routing plays an important role in the overall architecture of 6LoWPAN. In 6LoWPAN, Border Router links the 6LoWPAN networks to the exterior net or the Internet. The aim of this proposed system is to implement a RPL and to examine the energy consumption of nodes in the network. Energy consumption in four different states namely Transmission (TX), Reception (RX), ON and Idle is analyzed. The analysis is carried out in linear topologies. The packet analysis is done using wireshark software. The proposed work is simulated using a Cooja Simulator. For this simulation,Tmote sky will be use which has a CC2420 transceiver.
