"The Lost History of Sextus Aurelius Victor" by Justin A. Stover and George Woudhuysen challenges the commonly accepted understanding of fourth-century Latin literature. The authors argue that the Historiae abbreviatae and the Epitome de Caesaribus, previously attributed to Aurelius Victor, are actually epitomes of a larger lost history by Victor that covered imperial history from Augustus to Julian. They also question the existence of the Enmannsche Kaisergeschichte and its influence on Latin historiography.
