This article discusses the topic of job satisfaction among translators and interpreters. While job satisfaction has been extensively studied in industrial and organizational psychology, it has received less attention in the field of Translation and Interpreting Studies. The article highlights the multidimensional nature of job satisfaction, which encompasses psychological, sociological, and ergonomic aspects. It also explores the implications of job satisfaction for the translation and interpreting industry, noting that while translators and interpreters may be satisfied with the intrinsic nature of their work, they may be less satisfied with their professional status and working conditions. The article presents a special issue that brings together research on translators' and interpreters' job satisfaction, featuring studies that examine various aspects of job satisfaction using different theoretical and methodological approaches. The authors hope that this special issue will inspire further research on the topic. [Extracted from the article] |
